I visited Virginia City in Nevada, I took photos of about 15 headstone If anyone wants me to check a name. I also have a small booklet of obits of people buried in the cemetery.

Not all the people in the Storey County cemeteries are listed on line.

Here is what I found through Ancestry.com on John Cox

He is in the 1880 census for Nevada, Storey County, Virginia City
Cox John, 34 born in Ireland parents born in Ireland also. He is a laborer
Kate Cox, 36,
James J. Cox 4
Thomas P age 2.

You can view the 1880 census for free through the Family History Center [LDS] online or go to:
www.nevadaculture.org and use their free census lists from 1860 through 1920 for Nevada.

Hope this helps you. If you want I can go the Nevada Historical Society here in Reno and check the Territorial Enterprise newspaper and see if he had an obit....

I am searching for my great great grandfather Sidney Truscott who was born in England in 1840 but died in Gold Hill IOOF Cemetary 4 April, 1892. He worked for the Crown Point Mine and was married to Sabina (sp) Crossman.

Would you have any information on these family members. My great grandmother was born there and her name is Janie Truscott Collett.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sydney Truscott is buried in the Gold Hill Cemetery. His name appears on the index. There is no headstone. I could not find any information on the two ladies. There is a William Truscott in the Gold Hill Cemetery also, could he be related?
