I am searching for the children of William C. and Alice Hartnett, who died in Newport, Rhode Island. This information comes from the Social Security Death Index. William Clifford Hartnett died June 1975 and Alice died November 1976. William C. Hartnett was born in Pulaski County, Arkansas, the son of Charles Henry Hartnett and Myrta Dialtha Breeden. William's WWI draft registration card states he was a member of the "Friends Church which disapproves of war".He was living in Kansas at that time. He also registered for World War II and he was living on Water St. in Portsmouth, Newport County, R.I..They may have had 2 sons Tommy and Pat and a daughter Sandra Lou, but I cannot prove that.
Can anyone on the board help me with an obituary or personal knowledge of this family? I have Hartnett information that I can share.

My name is Bill Hartnett and I am a grandson of William and Alice. My father is William Clifford Hartnett Jr. He passed away a few years ago. My father was the oldest of 8 children. I am the oldest of 7 in my family.

Hi there! I'm not sure if you found more info. I see your post is from last Sept. I am the Grand-daughter of Alice and William Hartnett. They had two daughters, Margaret and Lois and three sons, William, Paul and David. Only Paul, my father and David are still living. I am now living in Australia and was putting together a family tree when I came across your post. My dad used to tell me stories about how his father was a traveling pastor for the "Friends" church which is what cemented that we were indeed talking about the same people. I hope I have the right Bill. If so, we may have met in 1976. I came to Tiverton, as far as I can recall and stayed with my Aunt Lois and Uncle Bill in a big white house with a little lake. My father is Paul. As far as I knew, there were five kids, William, your father I presume, David, Paul, Margaret (Marty) and Lois. I had no idea there were more. Was your Grandmother maiden name Tollefson? I would love to know if you are indeed my cousin. I now live in Australia but my Dad is still in California. My sister Kendra remembers your sisters fondly but I don't believe they have spoken in some years. I hope all is well with you and yours.
