Hi, I am looking for the following family, which I think may have lived in Kilmarnock in 1851, as their daughter Ann was married in Beansburn in 1837. The family is:

JOHN MCGEE, age 55 ?? he was a miner
JANE/JANET/JEAN MCGEE, age 55 ??

I have run up against a brick wall concerning this couple. John and Jane may also have been in BEITH in 1851. All I know is that Ann was their daughter and she was born in 1819 in Dalry, they may have had other children, I don't know as I'm not able to find any information on them, through either the LDS or Scotland online. Thank you for any help that may be given. Julie

Hi Julie,

Best bet would be to ask Elizabeth Bell the North Ayrshire local historian librarian for a lookup in the 1861 and 1851 census indexes. Give the full details of all family members including names, ages and birth locations if known.

Email address for Elizabeth on the Ayrshire GenWebPage at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~sctayr/
