Is there any Cudney researchers who have traced the descendents of these Grantham Twp Cudneys?
John Kerlin (1758-1835) m. Susannah Burns, both Treasury Loyalists. Surviving children:
1) John Kerlin Jr of Grantham Twp, shoemaker was the only surviving son of John Kerlin, UE Loyalist. John Jr & Mary Ann Kerlin buried St Mathew’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Florence (OCFA, Euphemia Twp, Lambton Co, LB-978-3).
2) Sophia Kerlin (b. in England) m. Aug 29, 1809 in Ernestown Joseph CHATTERSON. It appears that Joseph Chatterson’s family had moved to Ancaster Twp by 1820. They had 13 children two of whom died in infancy, the remaining being John Burns Chatterson, Ezekiel Chatterson carpenter & joiner m. Oct 9, 1833 at Hamilton, Barbara THATCHER of Ancaster, Robert A Chatterson farmer Brantford Twp, JP was born in Ancaster Twp March 9, 1820 and settled in Brant Co in 1839, Susannah Chatterson m. June 19, 1832 both of Ancaster, Henry SHAVER Jr, Solomon Chatterson farmer, Mohawk Twp was born in Wentworth Co in 1824 and settled in Brant Co in 1845 m. Jan 29, 1849 in Brantford Eliza Ann McALLISTER, Charlotte Chatterson, Henry Chatterson, Albert Chatterson, William Chatterson and Eliza J Chatterson. Joseph & Sophia Chatterson are buried in Mount Pleasant Pioneer Cemetery, Brantford Twp (OCFA, BT-015. There are 30 kin buried in this and Mt Hope Cemetery, Brantford Twp).
3) Anne Kerlin m. Ezekiel CUDNEY Jr. Ezekiel Cudney Sr (1765-1815) was a NB Loyalist who settled in Niagara circa 1800. The son bought 300 acres in Grantham Twp in 1815 and this land was owned by descendants until the late 1880's. Ezekiel & 15 kin are buried in Grantham & Niagara Twps, Lincoln Co.
4) Susannah Kerlin, dau of John & Susannah Kerlin, Ernestown bapt 13 Jan 1799. Married Daniel CUDNEY of Grantham Twp.
