Thomas Cushman who married Mary Allerton had a son Thomas Cushman, b. 16 Sept. 1637 who married (2) Ruth Howland 16 Oct 1679.

We are in this line and can trace back to the Mayflower through the Degory Priest, Francis Eaton and Isaac Allerton lines.

Thomas was the son of Robert Cushman, b. 9 Feb. 1577 who was an organizer of the Mayflower trip but was on the Speedwell which developed troubles and had to return to Plymouth, England. In 1621 Thomas arrived on the Fortune with his son. He was in the colonies for about a month, had to make a journey back to England for the Colony and left his 14 year old son in the care of Bradford.

Janice, in Henry Wyles Cushman's book there is not mention of the name of Isaac's wife. This is the listing: "180 I Isaac6, (518) b. 20 Oct. 1734, lived in Stafford, Ct, and died there in 1813, ae.77. He had 3 chil., all sons."

If you need any of the writeup for Jonah let me know. Alice

"518 I Jonah7, (1386) b. 17 Dec. l759 at Stafford, Conn. At the commencement of the Revolutionary War, his father, Isaac, enlisted as a soldier for three years. Lee replied by informing him what a formidable front the British army presented, and said they could not be beat. Washington's reply was, "God knows they can be beat."

Where can I get this book? THANKS SO MUCH! you have been a great help. I show Emily and Russell having a child named Mary. She married Elvene A. Tuttle who was my great grandfather. They had my grandfather Elvene Elmer Tuttle.
I must tell you why I started this Quest. When my father passed away with Cancer, he lived in my grandparents home. I found our Family Bible and pictures of people, who now I know, were my gggrandparents. I want to put this in book form and dedicate it to my Dad.

Janice, Henry's book only covers a small amount of people in the ninth generation. He does cover Marble (1392) of Berkshire, N.Y.,had chil. 2559 I William Henry9, (by 2d wf.) b. about 1845.

This is the only one covered in the ninth generation. Henry's book was published in 1855 when he was Lt. Governor of Massachusetts. He organized a reunion of Cushmans in 1855 in Plymouth, Ma and about 1,000 showed up.
My brother-in-law, George Cushman in N.H., gave me the book. He bought it for about $100.00 in the 1950s in a secondhand book store in Boston. My suggestion would be to inquire in the libraries in your area. If you are in western Ma I am sure they would have copies as Henry lived in western Ma

I wish I was as lucky with my Alden Cushman.

If you have any other questions that arise, just let me know.

I did look for the book at Barnes Noble and it was $100. I will go to my library and see if I can find it. I'm from Phila. and I know the Phila. library will have it. I will keep my eyes out for any info on Alden Cushman as my cousins and myself are all doing the research now. One of my cousins lives in Ma. and has access to more info.
