Seeking information &/or obituary for Earl Ellsworth Webster born 6 August 1905 in Illinois and died 12 November 1959 in Santa Clara, Santa Clara, CA. Death record on California death index was imported from U.S. Veteran's Affairs. Does this mean that he died while in military service? He is buried in Golden Gate Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo, CA. Any information would be appreciated.

full description on ancestry. Earl was a veteran of WWII. served 1942-45 MM1 US Navy.
Also checked to see if wife was buried there. Found Josephine Cyrilla Webster w/o Earl d. 18 Mar 1995
Josephine died in Sierra Vista, Ariz. Her SSDI says she worked in Minnesota

SSDI says earl worked in Wisconsin.

If you google up "random acts of geaealogical kindness" (RAOGK) I think there is a way to find a connection to a Santa Clara Co volunteer to look up an Obit for Earl.

More than likely he died in Santa Clara County and not while in service. We do not have a military cemetery in our county. So the US Veteran's Affairs finds a closer cemetery.

Try posting on the San Mateo County board to have someone take a picture of headstone.

Obit should be in the San Jose Mercury Newspaper.
