Brede was an uncle of my grandmother and lived 1865-1941. The DOD for Brede is listed as 2/12/1941, while Christina's DOD is 5/28/1937. According to US Census, the couple lived in Shotley as of 1930. They both died in Beltrami County. They had no kids as far as we know. Brede was of Norwegian decent, while Christina was originally from Sweden. We do have quite a few letters from Brede describing life in his new country. I would be very interested in gathering any additional information, places they might have lived, workplaces, cemetery inscriptions, etc.

I saw your post and assume that you found some old records associated with Brede Aulie and his wife. I would be very interested in seeing copies.

I have the death record in the Woodrow Township death/birth ledger but cannot find the cemetery in which she was interred. Does the death certicate designate a cemetery? In July I will be where I can look for a newspaper notice or obituary but they do not always state the cemetery. Do you know the cemetery Brede was interred in? I am trying to put obscure and abandoned cemeteries on Find A Grave and do a little research if there are lots of "blanks." Grace Petron She was in the household of Ole Roe on one census; do you know him? Was he related? His stepson still lives in the area and I can ask him but don't know how much "old stuff" he knows.

Does the death certificate designate a cemetery? I have the record in the Woodrow Township death/birth index but it says "Saum Cemetery" which narrows it down to 3 o4 different cemeteries! I am putting obscure and abandoned cemeteries in Find A Grave. Thanks, Grace

Sorry it took me a while to respond. I am getting at this with renewed interest! How should I go about getting a copy of this will?

Re: Christina Olson Aulie death certificate
I would be very interested in finding the exact cemetery where Christina and Brede were buried (probably/hopefully in the same place). Can you tell the name?

Re: Brede Aulie & Christina Olson Aulie
Hope to get hold of a copy of the actual certificate(s). Not familiar with the other names you mention. Appreciate the help!

Re: Brede Aulie & Christina Olson Aulie
Thanks for the message. You can get the death certificate from mnhs.org for $9; I can get it for free in person by looking it up myself but I won't be in St Paul until July. If you get one, please let me know what the cemetery blank says. I have input Foy, Tolgen and Bethany Lutheran and they were not on either of the documents I was reading from and not in Kelliher's Fairview either. On Find a Grave the cemeteries are Foy in Woodrow twp and Tolgen in Saum, both may be described as being in Saum and Bethany is regarded as being in Shotley. The towns and the township names do not necessarily match. I suspect Christine is in Foy or Bethany but if it is not named on the death certificate we will never know. If it is not given I will look at the old newspapers in Blackduck and see if there was an obituary. Kelliher had an off and on newspaper in those days so Blackduck is more reliable. The Snustad Funeral home which served for many years had a fire and they tell me there is very little left of their records. My brother still farms up there and is oxygen dependent so I go there for a month in summer and hook and unhook machinery so he doesn't have to get on and off the tractor; or I make lunch and supper and his wife follows in the fields. If you have someone in St paul, the documents are at the Historical Society on Kellogg Blvd near the capitol and the parking is $5, even if you stay 20 minutes.
Cordially, Grace
