Searching for the location of Fish Creek Cemetery, Fulton, Bourbon Co., KS. The only information I can find is “south of Fulton.” Can anyone tell me exactly where this cemetery is?

From Seldom Used/Abandoned Cemeteries published by Old Fort Genealogical Society:
Fish Creek Cemetery, recorded by Florine Norbury

This is an abandoned burial ground just south of Fulton. The stones are alleged to have been taken away and piled in a ditch.

Chap___, Eramus (could be Chapman or Chaplin)
Schellack, Anna D/O E & H, Oct 22, 1876-Dec 5, 1877
Schellack, Carl S/O E & H, May 26, 1878-Aug 25, 1878
Butler, Wilma

Taken from the Old Fort Genealogy Log dated Sept. 1875
Within the last year a search by a memeber of the OFGS was made for the Old Fish Creek cemetery on the west side of highway 69[note this is now known as old 69 and is 215th street] on the south edge of Fulton, KS. A number of years ago several stones were visible in this burial spot but none have been found lately.

Hello!

I just read on the message board of rootsweb.com the tombstones you uncovered in Fish Creek Cemetery. I am a Schellack and two of the children's tombstones were Schellacks. I am most likely related to every Schellack in America because there are so few of us. Do you have any more information? Where is the old cemetery located in Kansas? You were saying the stones are gone now, correct?

Thanks for your reply,
Linda

Sorry, all the information I have is what I posted. Where located is as I posted. The highway 69 they have listed in the cemetery book is now known as 215th Street. Highway 69 was moved to the east.Maybe if you write to Osaga Historical Society
Fulton Community Center-Room 3
Fulton, KS 66738
they may know about the cemetery. You will have to use snail mail.
