Looking for researchers of early Flanagan's in Summit county, from about 1880-1920. Patrick Flanagan, Joseph Flanagan, and John Flanagan.

I came across this wedding notice in the Akron Beacon Journal for John Flanagan dated 24 Jun 1920. Do any of the other Flanagan names in the article stand out to you?

None of the other Flanagans look familiar, but let me check out the Dan Flanagan and see if there might be a son by that name.

It doesn't look as if the Flanagan's from that marriage are the right family. They came out of PA.

I also found this one in my library fiche lookups. John Flanagan died in 1893. Born about 1832. I could not find any good leads but maybe in his will there is a clue.

Looks as if this Flanagan came from Ireland through Maryland, where he enlisted in the Civil War, then into OH by 1872, when James was born. John Flanagan is listed in the 1890 Vet schedule for Tallmadge, OH. His wife, Mary died in 1908.

Is there a possibility that this John Flanagan is related to the 3 Flanagans that you are trying to tie together?

I don't see the connection yet. I know the other John and Patrick Flanagan were brothers. Joseph is somehow connected as evidenced by his attending the Painesville wedding and the three of them living together for a while. John moved to Omaha, where he died. Patrick was a postal worker and started a nursery in Akron, until he decided to prospect for gold. He eventually settled in Seattle, where he died. I do have the pension records of another John Flanagan from Painesville who I didn't believe was connected, but it turned out he also worked at the same nursery as my other Flanagan's before he enlisted in the union army. The records also stated he was born in Kings County, Ireland, which is the current best guess for our Irish origins. One of my Flanagan relatives has a bible with an inserted paper that has Kings County as the birth county of our relatives. If you haven't already, you can take a look at this other Lake County, OH thread:

I am thinking maybe this unknown John Flanagan from Painesville might be the brother to Patrick Flanagan born about 1818, who is the listed father of my Flanagan's in Painesville and John and Patrick in Akron. This unknown John may be the reason the Flanagan family went to Painesville. I am still searching.
