Stephen Catt, born in 1804 in Sussex or Kent, married Francis Ridley. Appear to be in Canada around 1854, 55 or 56. They were Primitive Methodists. They had a family of four daughters & three sons; namely Harriett (Harmond), Mary (Fisher), Caroline (Hodson), Jane (Stace), Stephen, Henry and Alfred. This information I have obtained from research done several years ago by Mysie McDonald who was an aunt of mine who gives a brief history of Stephen and Henry here in the Bosanquet area in Canada. Stephen's children two sons, Stephen & Henry both appear on the 1871 census of Ontario along with their Uncle Henry born in 1816 who apparently was alredy in Canada when the two brothers came. I have not really gotten into researching the family history as others were supposed to be doing this, but I have not heard anymore about it in at least two years. I do know however their is an excellent research centre nearby and anyone who lived or worked in the County of Lambton would be in these records. Many family members are close by. Stephen Catt and Francis Ridley's daughter Mary (Fisher) had a daughter named Mary Ellen (Ella) Fisher. Ella married Frank Thomas Hancock on 23 Sep 1891. I am Dan Hancock, a descendant of that marriage. I am documenting Stephen's, Francis', Mary's, and Ella's families and descendants at my webb site (www.hancockonline.net). I would like to receive a copy of Mysie McDonald's information. My two questions relate to the parents of Stephen Catt and Francis Ridley. I have seen one genealogy wherein Stephen's parents were reported to be Stephan Catt (b. 10 Feb 1777) and Elizabeth Blackman; however, no source documentation was provided. Has anyone researched the old English parish records and verified the names of Stephen's (b. 1804) parents and his place of birth? Further, has anyone determined the names of Francis (or Frances?) Ridley's parents and her place of birth?

I have the official transcript for the marriage of Stephen Catt and Elizabeth Blackman, birth and marriage of Stephen Catt & Frances Ridley, (parents names). I also have the letter of Mysie McDonald, (not completely accurate). I have some information regarding Mary Ellen Fisher, her marriage and death.
