I have constructed a Maloy/Malloy/Molly Data base that contains 4485 persons with 25,196 records.
I am searching for William Maloy/Malloy that married Harriet Forehon. William was the son of Daniel Maloy/Malloy and Nancy White. It is believed that they lived at one time in the Jay community and may have lived and have descendants in Walton County.
Anyone researching in the Maloy/Malloy/Molloy/Forehon families, please contact me

Do you have any Malloy/Molloy's that may have been in South Carolina after the civil war? In Charleston specifically. I'm looking for a Thomas Patrick Molloy who married Mary (Marie) Sherfesee in Charleston in December 1866.

thanks,
Jean

I do not have any Maloy/malloy/Molloy's in my data base that was in Charleston, SC. Our line came from Scotland to Robeson Co., NC and migrated south through GA, AL, FL, MS and beyond. They enteredNC abt 1774. Some one of this family may have migrated to Charleston, SC but I have no records of it.
Send me amn E mail to Leastes2@aol.com and I will send you a gedCom on my files.

My grandfather Daniel Molloy b. Cincinnati, OH (we think)
married a woman named Mary Cohan. We think his middle name was Joseph,
and he was known as "Dapper Dan" for being a good dresser
and we assume he was probably a big drinker. They are both buried in a
cemetery in Ft. Wright,No KY, along with a daughter, Charlotte .

They had several children all born in Cincinnati:
William
Lillian d. 1975 m. Richard McHugh no children
Charlotte died age 39 alcoholism
Anna
Marie
there may have been a male child Michael...?
Daniel Anthony b. 11/30/1909 - 9/13/1975 married Marguerite Trusty 1946-47 She died 2002, was born May 26, 1918
Had 5 children: Daniel 1944 Maureen 1953 Tom 1955 Patricia 1959 and Margaret Ann 1960
grew up in Kenwood and Loveland, OH (Cincinnati suburbs)

As children the Sr. Molloy family lived in the downtown section known as the "West End" in Cincinnati.
Several of the siblings and maybe the parents moved to St. Bernard, OH (Cincinnati)
in the 1910's-20's where several remained until 1960s.

There may be relatives in NYC - story was there were 3 maiden aunts who lived
there, sisters of Daniel Molloy Sr. who were seamstresses. There is some story
about the family owning an oil lamp manufacturing business in NYC in the mid-1850s,
and the family members receiving a stipend of $3000 per year from a trust set up from a
fortune made in it.

There is also a story about the Molloys coming from County Cork, Ireland.

We are trying to get a start on reseaching them. Molloy and Cohan are common Irish names.
Can you offer any help?

My gggfa was Demarcus (sometimes Marcus) Molloy. He was born around 1789 and married in KY in 1817 to Ann Beck. He is buried in the Beck cemetery in Caldwell County KY. I know nothing at all about his birthplace or his parents. There have been two stories: 1) he was born in Ireland, 2) he was born in MD. The Becks are well-researched, but not the Molloys that far back, that I can find.
I'd appreciate anything anyone can add to this story.

Very interested in Maloy line. Do you have a Catharine Maloy b. 1756 in Scotland emigrating through Wilmington, NC in 1783? Married Jacob Miller, 12 children. They moved to Hancock Co. AL (1820 census). Any information and tie-in to your Maloy records would be greatly appreciated!
