Daniel:
I believe you are researching the family lines of Jose Nicolas Chapa born 1 Jan 1670 and Maria Inez Benavides Flores born 1685, the daughter of Captain Francisco Baes Benavides and Ma. Clara Flores de la Cerda. Jose Nicolas Chapa, the son of Juan Bautista Chapa (Schiapapria)and Beatriz Trevino de Olivares, is known to be the founder of General Trevino. Nicolas named the settlement after the founder of his mother's family in Nuevo Leon. The parents of Beatriz Trevino de Olivares are Juan Olivares and Juana de Trevino.

Daniel, we may be related and a little closer than 300 years ago---I have sent e-mail in the past, but it never gets through. If you can drop me a line.

I thank John Inclan for the info he posted.

Thanks

Abe,

That's amazing! My sister Dana told me that she had heard from one of my Dad's cousins, but she didn't tell me who it was. I would be interested in any of the information that you have been able to find out. I'll try and call you on a the weekend. I'm never around during the week. Are you in California? I'm here in Salt Lake Utah. I have access to the LDS Genealogy Library. I havent been down there much lately though. If you need me to look for aomething, let me know.

Hi Daniel Reyes and Abe Plata,

Did not have Jose Miguel Chapa nor his descendants. I did, however, have his mother,Ana Maria Garcia, who married Miguel Eusebio de Chapa on May 24,1735 in Monterrey.

Her parents were Captain Francisco Garcia and Maria Gertrudis Guajardo. They were married on January 17, 1709 in Cerralvo.

Ana Maria's second marriage was to Bartolome Trevino on April 12, 1747 and had at least five additional children.

Hope the information for Ana Maria helps in your studies.

Jerry
