Any information on these decendents:??

Juan Sortillion was the son of Guadalupe Ortega and Francisco Sortillon. They were of French decent and lived in Magdelena in the state of Sonora, Mx. Francisco was the son of Dolores Rosas. Then, I believe married Agustin Marques.

There was Esqicupula who was Chief of police of the state police of Sonora Mexico .

Linda, I was reviewing some notes, that according to a reference book from Arizona State Genealogy Society. Mexican Census of 1831 in Tucson, Tubac, and Santa Cruz. It's written that in household # 5 ( occupants) in Tubac
lived
Agustin Marquez
Guadalupe Ortega
Mariano Marquez child
Francisca Marquez child
Agustina Marquez child
Cayetano Marquez child
Juan Sortillon adult

And on 23 june 1844 Juan Sortillon and Guadalupe Ortega baptised two boys in Tubac.
Hope this dosen't add to the confusion.

good luck,
Homer

You mentioned a listing of a mexican census from 1831. I am interested in the Santa Cruz area during that time. Where would I be able to find that census. You said something about the Arizona State genealogy society. Is that a place I could go to? Could you tell me where it is or how to get the census you mentioned.
Thank you, Yolanda

Hi Cora, the closest to Cuen is the following:
Tucson Garrison Strength on 1 Jan. 1817, listed as soldiers Pedro Cuellar and Antonio Cuellar.

(these soldiers moved around to the presidios that they were needed, Tucson, Tubac,or Santa Cruz) also it doesn't say if Pedro and Antonio were related.
Cora, if I find anything I'll keep you posted.
Homer
