I'm looking for any information about Daniel Smith and/or Mary Bell Gibbs. They were my grandparents. My fathers name was Lendon Smith. He was born in Thackerville,Love Co., Ok. Both of my grandparents are buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Do you know the birth years ? Or any extended family ? The Smith in my family is Edna Smith married to John Newton Pierce. From what I've heard from some relatives they are from Thackerville.

I'm Bill's little sister, Lynn, you are probably the link I've been looking for! On Elisha Daniel Smith's obituary, for the first typo it had was his name which Elisha is spelled Ekisha. He had a surviving sister named Mrs. Dena Pearce. I haven't found any records at all for this person in any of Love Co. I have found a marriage record where Edna Smith married I think it was James or John Pierce. I'm not positive on the first name ; I'm just going on my memory of records I went through nearly 2 years ago. If you have any more info I'll be glad to share what I have on our side.

and elizabeth are buried by 2 sons that died as children, one
was named little blind jim. elizabeth smith's maiden name was micheals. my grandma flo use to tell us stories of that they would brush her hair and that it reached the floor when she was sitting. elisha and elizabeth had 5 farms in thackerville at one time. they lost it through a conspiracy. they donated the land for the thackerville school
