history always intrigues me and I just started working at Bailey Park the old building is gone now, but I have heard stories about the old building being run by nuns in the 1950's as a hospital for birthing babies. any info or pics would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, there used to be St. Mary's Hospital in Bailey Park, in fact, my dad help build it and my sister was born there in 1951. I will check for any photos, don't know if I have any.

St. Mary's was a pretty nice small town hospital back in it's day. My dad worked on it when it was built and later on additions. They made it into a nursing home in it's later days. It was just torn down in the last few years.
My family has a lot of sad and happy memories from the old hospital. Lots of my kinfolk's babies were born there and lots of my kin died there including my Dad and Grandfather. My oldest child was born there in 1956 and I spent a few days there in the early 1950s. I believe there are some pictures of the hospital on the Gibson County website.

Does anyone know of the names of any of the hospitals that might have been around in the Dyer, and Bradford or Trenton, Gibson Co., TN areas 1900-1910? Also any around Greenfield, Weakley Co., TN same time frame?

Trenton had Oursler clinic. I hope I am spelling this correctly. It was located on High St.

I was born in St Marys in 1940's. My grandmother's uncle donated the land for the hospital and park.(Bailey)

I am sure the Courier Chronicle newspaper has photos of hospital.
