Seeking information on, and/or descendents of, John Merryman Misel b 1866, wife Clarissa b 1866, children Owen, Bessie, Lura Belle(?) and Verity(?) b 1890s. All born Noble Countynty, Ohio emigrated to Canada after 1896-97. Only reference located to date lists a J M Misel as a teamster in Iricanna, Alberta in 1911. Do not even know for sure that the family remained in Canada. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated..

The Alberta Genealogical Soiety has only one MISEL listed in a 500 thousand name data base of mostly cemetery burials.
That is Clara E. MISEL 1864 - 1934 plot O,21,w7 in the Acme Cemetery at Acme Alberta. I see Acme is about 25 miles from Iricanna.

I know of a John Misel who married Mary Ellen Crawford, married around 1880 in Missouri, I don't know of any connections to your Misel but I was wondering if perhaps there were any or maybe if anyone knows of any Misels in this area: Missouri. They were my great-great grandparents.

Thanks for the Canadian information. I haven't developed any mastery of those records yet! I had discovered that John went to Canada about the turn of the century so you have confirmed that.

I know it has been years since you posted this message, but I just read it since I am now researching my ancestors.
My mother, Marie Misel Buxton, is the granddaughter of John and Mary Ellen Misel (my mother's father was Casper Wilson Misel, the son son of John and Mary Ellen). My mother is 82 years old and still lives in Missouri.

I've seen your Missouri Misels during my research but have not been able to connect them with my lines. It looks like your John Misel came to the US in the late 1800s. Do you know where in Germany he came from? My original John Misel (in the US) arrived in the late 1700s - also from Germany, place unknown. I am still stumped on the family at that point.
