What was a clerk in Holy Orders in the Chuch of England?
Is there a central records office for the Church?
Any information will be most helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Proud grandson of BHC Lucy Pugsley

A clerk in Holy Orders" - "in Holy Orders" just meant that a man was ordained in the Church of England. Why don't you put Church of England into your search engine? They are bound to have a web site and addresses to which you could write whatever your query is.

The church has a a directory of staff called Crockfords, and I'm sure will have good archives.

Try mailing archivist@c-of-e.org.uk
