Researching Joseph DOLEAC, born 6/6/1833 in Frechede, Canton de Trie, France. He emigrated to the states in 1874, lived in New Orleans for a while. I don't know if he moved to another parish; this is for a French friend and I don't have more than that info. I'd appreciatte hearing from descendants.
Thank-you very much

My grandmother's mother was Marie eugénie Doléac, born in Frechede, canton de trie. 2 uncles of her, formerly set as butchers, emigrated to new orleans. one didn't have any descendance, and we still don't know what happened to the second.

I remember that, earlier, the grandfather of Marie eugénie, came to new orleans before the american civil war, his name was Duran, in France he was peasant. His death was not certified, but our family received a letter from a friend of him, telling he was dead. We didn't any confirmation of the day by the legal authorities (Baton Rouge register)

I can give other details, once i check the genealogy tree

Hope i'll get an answer, in order to fulfill mine, and have contact whith the american descendants of my ancestor...who may be know the real story

Sincerily / Gilles Nicolau
