I am from the John Apps line. He had at least 2 brothers Edward and William. They were from NY. John married Jane Davey and later Minnie Best. I am looking for relatives from the other brothers. I believe Edward wwent to Canada and William stayed in NY. I was told we were related to Sly Apps of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Would like to know for sure. Please E-mail me if you are any relations.

John Apps was from New York, and after living many years in Michigan, went back to NY when he died. Jane Alice Davey Apps, his wife, stayed in Michigan, according to my records.

Wow! We read your message this morning. Mom remembers meeting Aunt Lucy. I think we really have soomething here. Mom and Steve live on the Apps farm now. Not much has changed. Dad passed away in May 1992 from a heart attack. Leo (his oldest brother) and Helen (his oldest sister) are still living. Robert passed away Nov. 1964 and Evelyn passed away but not sure of the date.

I am in MIchigan visiting family and will be back in Maryland by June 12. I will send you an E-mail and we cn chat once in awhile.

My grandfather, William Henry Apps II was from
the Medina, NY area. It's my understanding that
his father came from Wales, along with 6 other
brothers, and settled in the NY and Canada
areas. We did find out we are related to the
famous Canadian hockey player, Syl Apps, whose son,
also Syl Apps, played professionally for the
Pittsburg Penguins---I met him when I was in
high school---some 20+ years ago---wow, does
time fly.
