Dear Bettie,
Your David Morrow and Betsy Kiddoo are my 1C3R. I am directly related to the OTHER David Morrow and Elizabeth Kiddoo in the family. (My David was a brother of Matthew Morrow who married Nancy Kiddoo, and whose son David Morrow married Betsy Kiddoo.)

Your David and Betsy had a son Matthew FORBES Morrow. Do you by any chance know where the Forbes name came from?? The name has gone down in the family here and there, and I have not known exactly why. My great grandfather, David (what else?) was named David Forbes Morrow. His grandson, my uncle, was Tevis (maternal side) Forbes (paternal side) Morrow. I've always been curious.

Any chance these match in somewhere?

Rachel Emma Kiddoo m. Ralph Solomon Davison in 1890
Her parents were William & Catherine (Vance) Kiddoo
Ralph & Rachel's children were: Clyde, Lee, Harold, Don, Ruth, Ferne

The Graves connection maybe:
Ralph Graves m. Cora Brown (her mother = DAVISON)
Children were LaJune & Lucinda Graves
LaJune Graves m. Glenn Brookhart

...all families from Illinois, specifically Aledo, Mercer Co., IL...not my direct line but I've recently been researching it...touch base if you see a connection...

Dear Sandy,
Mine is not the branch of the family that went to Aledo, but I do have some info on William KIDDOO and Catherine Delila VANCE in my database. The only children I have for them at this time are Evila Jane and Forbes. (Would still really like to know the source of "FORBES.")

My branch of the Morrows/Kiddoos were not the Aledo branch but I do have William KIDDOO and Catherine Delila VANCE in my database. I only have two children for them.

William KIDDOO and Catherine Delila VANCE
m. 3 March 1853

Evila Jane Kiddoo b. 8 Dec 1853 m. Willard Easley
Forbes Kiddoo b. 11 Jan 1859 m. Phoebe Ann Jackson

I do not have Rachel Kiddoo or Ralph Davison.
I am a GRAVES from my father's maternal side. They were Jamestown VA, to KY and TX .
Never heard of any in IL but checked out all of the Ralphs and the others in your note - nothing there.

Let me know what you have and what you need on the Kiddoo couple - Nancy

Hi Nancy, I know this may be a long shot since this was posted about 10 years ago, but my great uncle was Tevis Forbes Morrow. He had a brother named John Coleman Morrow, who I have a letter from detailing our family history. He mentions a daughter named Nancy. If there's any info you have that could help me, please shoot me an email at

For whoever is seeking a Graves connection, according to, Lillian Sawyer Tevis, who married Wallis Delos Morrow, was the daughter of John Felix Tevis and Aletha Ann Graves. This also matches the 1880 census. She was mother to Tevis Forbes, Wallace Delos, David Dimm, John Coleman, and Paul Chiles Morrow.
