Hi... I am not sure if I'm any connection you're looking for at all, but my family (Marxer) might just be some sort of connection. My grandfather (Carl Paul Marxer, b. 1920) immigrated with his father to the United States from Liechtenstein. Sadly, I am unaware at this moment of the year they immigrated, or of my grandfather's father's name. I will speak with my dad later today and see if I can get some more info for you, if you wish. I know your post is over a year old, but if you're interested, please feel free to email me.

Thanks,
~~Matt Marxer~~

Mr. Matt Marxer,

I am finally getting back into this after a year hiatus. I would be very interested in hearing from you.

My 7th great grandfather (Peter Matt b.1635) married Katharina Marxer on 11/21/1677. His son (my 6th great grandfather named Georg) born 12/21/1679 married Anna Eva Marxer (b. 1672) on 11/21/1706.

Anna Eva Marxer's parents were Andreas Marxer and Katherina Schneider/Schrieber. We have some discrepancy as to her last name.

Please contact me.

Matt,

My email address is conan1230@mchsi.com. Even if I should move, the cell phone number will be good. I have had the number for almost 10 years.

Thanks,
Kevin

Michael,

Are you still working on Geneaology? I talked with you briefly in the spring of 2002 just before you went into the hospital.

I would like to get in contact with you again.

Sincerely,
Kevin A. Matt

Hi Kevin,

yes, I am still busy with genealogy.

It was great connecting our lines. At the moment I am quite busy at school and at home either, so almost no time for genealogy is left.

But I hope we will stay in contact, maybe partly by direct eMail-conversation, partly on this message board. And I hope we will get in touch with other researchers of the same families, too.

I hope this gets through. I found your Liechtenstein question for Matt and I was excited to see your listing of Schreibers. I am reseaching for my mother-in-law (Ruth Schreiber Maloney) the Schreiber Family. She is the g grandaughter of Michael Schriber who came to the US May 1852 on the ship Jersey with his father Michael Sr and his mother Magdalena Matt(er). They settled in Guttenburg IA although Michael Jr spent some time in Wabash ID before getting married to Anna Adrain. Michael and Anna moved to Burlington IA and had 6 sons. William the 2nd oldest is my mother-in-laws grandfather. If this is of any interest I would be very happy to hear about your Schreibers

OK, I see that this message is a few years old, but I am also descended from the Matts of Mauren, Liechtenstein. I was just on the One Family Tree site within the Ancestry.com website and found this goldmine of information on the Matts back to the early 1600's. One question though: I was wondering if one of you Matt geneologists put the information on there and where it came from. I am just looking for a little confirmation that it is true before I officially write it into the book I am making for my family. My GG grandfather, Joseph Matt came over to the USA in 1852 with his brother Mathias and another Matt and settled in Clayton County, Ia near Garnavillo.

Thanks,
Julie Holtz
