I am interested in information concerning the Thornton, Hare,and Dunn families. Especially Simmie(Simon or Jesse) Thornton and his wife Rose(Dunn) Thornton

I live in Lucedale. Simmie and Rose"Dunn" Hair are buried in the Stateline cemetary. There are no headstones. I believe Rose came from St. Stephens. It is said that she was a full blooded Indian from Walker Springs. It is very easy to believe after having seen her pictures and seeing other members of my family. Rose had a brother John Dunn. She came here with a son, Will Dunn, a daughter Mary Dunn"Mizelle", and then had Alex Thornton(Stateline), the twins- Harvey (struck and killed by lightning 4-12-52) and Horace (died of Lukes in 75-76). Harvey was my grandfather. I would really like to know about my ancestors, but I am getting absolutely nowhere. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Maybelle Whiddon was d/o Catherine V. PRINE Whiddon and Charles W. WHIDDON. They lived in Deerpark, then later in
Mississippi (Lucedale) where they ran the Whiddon Hotel.
