I'm looking for information about the family and descendants of John H. MOODY. John was born 23 Jan 1851 in Pittsburgh, PA. He married Margaret J. MOUL ca 1870. The couple lived in the Akron / Canton area from about 1882 until their death. He died 13 Aug 1917 in Stark Co, OH. Margaret died 23 Nov 1915 in Summit Co, OH. They are buried in West Lawn cemetery.

Their children were George Oliver MOODY (b 19 Nov 1873, m Emma F. --) and Mary Elizabeth MOODY (b ca 1877, m John Lovell SMITH).

Any information that might expand my knowledge of the family is appreciated.

Yes, I am still very interested. I have a fair amount of information about Mary Elizabeth's parents' generation (Moody), but know relatively little about her family and descendants, as well as the descendants of her brother George.

I don't have any information on George other than the 1880 census Allegheny, Pa, which lists him as being born about 1873. It also lists an older brother John as being born about 1871, and then Mary about 1877. I believe Mary and John Lovell Smith married in Canton, Ohio, and he worked on typewriters at the Goodyear Tire co. in Akron, Ohio. He died approx. 1960 or 1961.

Their son Paul Herbert Smith was my grandfather who was born in Harrisburg, PA, on Dec. 4, 1906. He also worked for Goodyear in the lab. Paul died in Akron on Dec. 30, 1966 (I believe he had a brain tumor). He was married to Mabel "Ethel" Arlene Miller who was born on May 27, 1909 in Green township, Ohio and died in Akron on May 2 1991. Ethel had 4 children from a previous marriage. The only child she had with Paul was my father Paul Eugene Smith born on April 22, 1940 and still living.

In additon to Paul Herbert Smith, John and Mary had 5 other children, Glenn A., Elmo Roy, Wayne, Eugene "Red", and Ruth.
