I have info on descendants of William S LOCKE tying into my lines

Great Grandfather William Samuel Locke, b. 8/17/1850 in Haldimand Co., Ont. Married Tryphena Rebecca Ryerse, 7/6/1874, in Norfolk Co., Ont. Had Cora Alma Locke, 2/23/1875, Lula Maude Locke, 11/26/1876, Amy Violet Locke, 4/20/1879, Frank Garfield Locke, 8/30/1881. Tryphena died in Black River, MI., 11/23/1881. William married Sarah Gordon in McMillan, MI. He was a postmaster from 1889-1895. He was director of the Upper Peninsula Development Bureau & founded a county park (Locke Park) in 1927. Seeking any info on William and children of 1st &/or 2nd wife.

Thank you for your response. I am trying to find information on William S Locke's father, Josiah Locke. I did access 1900 Census for Columbus Township, Luce County, Michigan. I see now that this information was provided by you, and I thank you. I think I need to look to Canadian records for William's birth record, and possibly his father and mother's marriage record for info on Josiah. I do have quite a bit on the mother, Mary Ann Doan. I found a biography from Memorial Record of the Northern Peninsula of Michigan 1895, on William S Locke (my great grandfather). It states that William was born in Holdmand, Ontario, August 17, 1850. It further states "his father, Josiah Locke, a respected farmer, is of English birth and in early life became a resident of Canada." It goes on. If you want a copy I can provide it for you. Let me know. If you have anything on Josiah, I'd like to know. If I can exchange any other information I'm willing.

Hi Kandy - I'll send some information to you in a couple of days via email. Interestingly my grandmother's name is Amy Viola Roat, and she is the niece of Amy Violet Locke. I imagine this is not a coincidence.

How exciting. My grandmother (Mary Ellen Musgrave nee Garrod) was married to Ferris Locke Musgrave Sr. who is the son of Amy Violet Locke and Oscar Rosco Musgrave. My grandmother is still living at 93 and residing in Newberry, Michigan. I will give you whatever information I can on the family.
