James E HASTY married Mary Jane [KELLY] ???

Does anyone know anything about James E HASTY and Mary Jane [KELLY] or their children?
I am trying to verify Marion County censuses that just don't make sense !!!
Mary Jane aka "Mollie" death certificate gives her birth as 24 Jul 1863 in Dayton, Tn, her death as 09 Oct 1935 in Marion Co Tx, her parents as James KELLY & Magdalena [REGAN],
and says her husband "J E HASTY survived her.
Was her husband the son of John J. Hasty ?
Any help you might give would be deeply appreciated!!!

Mary E Kelley and family were in Marion County Texas 1870 and 1880 census records. James E Hasty appears to be in Marion county in 1870 as well in household of John J Hasty arriving in Texas abt 1861 ?.

The 1900 census does not make sense. Based on the 1910 and 1930 census Mary and James married 1883-1884. 1st child born Oct 1884.

Ancestry.com transcribers has the family listed as HASTON for the 1900 record. Most of the 1890 record burned in 1921.

1900; Jefferson Ward 4, Marion, Texas; Roll: T623 1658; Page: 12B; Enumeration District: 92. Front Street.
James E Hasty, born 11/1858 in GA, married 1 yr, parents born GA, carpenter.
Mary J Hasty, wife, born 7/1863 in TN, married 1 yr, no children, parents born TN.
Loula S ......, listed as Hasty "s daughter", born 10/1884, age 15, TX, father GA, mother TN
James E......, listed as Hasty "s son", born 2/1899, TX, father GA, mother TN.

Now the question is did Mary and James have no children of their marriage and Loula and James E were his children or her children from prior marriages for them ? Or did the record mean they each had been married once which was supposed to mean "how many years"....who took this census ?? The 1910 record makes sense.

1910: 2-Wd Jefferson, Marion, Texas
Series: T624 Roll: 1576 Page 187B
Jim H Hasty listed as Harty, age 53, married 26 years, 1st marriage, born GA, parents GA
Mollie, wife, age 46, mother of 3 children, all living, born TN, parents TN
Eugene, son, age 11
Nellie ?, dtr, age 9

1920; Census Place: Jefferson, Marion, Texas; Roll: T625_1832; Page: 6B; Enumeration District: 129; Image: 400.
James E Hasty, age 63, born in Georgia, parents GA
Mary J, wife, age 56, born in TN, parents TN
Eugene Wilson, grandson, age 10, born AR
Lorene Wilson, grandtr, age 7, born LA

Mother of Wilson children from Texas, father listed as unknown. "Loula S" Hasty married the unknown Wilson.

1930; Census Place: Jefferson, Marion, Texas; Roll: 2375; Page: 13A; Enumeration District: 3; Image: 329.0.
Listed as KASTER on this one, granted the "H" does look like a "K".

J E Hasty, age 73, married at age 27, born GA, parents GA, building contrator.
Mary Jane, age 66, married at age 20, TN TN TN, florist
Lulu Hasty Wilson, daughter, 45, unable to tell if widow or divorced, stenographer for tax collector.
Lorraine Wilson, grandtr, 17

I did not find the son in the 1930 record nor grandson Eugene Wilson.

I know this post is really, really old, but I'm trying to figure this whole thing out, too. My husband is the great-great-grandson of James Eugene Hasty (he is the son of John Jackson Hasty). Their daughter, Loula Hasty, married Alexander Morgan Wilson. Their daughter, Mary Lorraine Wilson, married Cary Hamlin Dannelly - my husband's grandfather.

I'm trying to figure out the whole 1900 census. Were Mary Jane Kelly and James really only married a year? It seems to fit. Loula was born in 1884 and James in 1899. That's a long time to not have any children. The marriage record for James in 1884 was to a Mattie Kelly. Mary went by Mollie, not Mattie. Maybe Mattie was a sister? Cousin? I don't know. It's so confusing. Any new information out there?

Too many questions based on 1900 Census and marriage record, supposedly to Mattie Kelly. One possible solution involves calling the Marion County Clerk and requesting a lookup in the marriage indexes. "All" Texas County Clerks maintain indexes of marriages: bride-to-groom and vice versa. Ask for "male Hasty marriages 1880-1900". That should cover all possibilities? http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/cclerks.shtml#M Errors were made in translation/transcription of the Bible. Errors were also made, and continue, on vital records.

The Kelly's were residents of Pct 2, Marion Co TX in 1880 census. There was no daughter listed as Martha or Mattie in the household. Was there a transcription error on the marriage record ? Her father performed the marriage.

Below link is actual ledger page for the record which says Mattie, not Mollie or Mary. Marriage was also performed by J M Kelley, Minister of the Gospel, on the 31st of Jan 1884 to J E Hasty.
