Has anyone read about
SHEROD KINCAID and his wife, JANE
HUGHS, getting murdered on their Farm just after the Civil War? It was about 1867 and the only survivor was their son, JAMES
BROOKINS KINCAID. He was taken by two of his uncles, to live with
HUGHS or
McGee relatives in
Sequoyah County,
Oklahoma and then to
Pryor,
Oklahoma, in
Wagoner County. If anyone knows where the Kincaids were buried, in which Cemetery or in what plot of ground, I would like to correspond with them. They were living in UNION Township during the 1860 Census of
Newton County. Also living in their home was a young man,
WILEY WILLIAMS age 22 years and an older woman, ELIZABETH
STUART age 48 years. Would like to correspond with anyone that has any knowledge of the murders. Perhaps the event was published in one of the local Newspapers?
