Elizabeth is my 3C1R, and I'd love to get more information on the McHoul lines. We are both descended from James Craig (ca. 1767 - ca. 1822) and Sarah Walker (ca. 1761 - ca. 1833). Their daughter Janet (1794-1882) married John McHoul ( ? - 1817) in Kilmaurs on 18 April 1812.

Actually I made a mistake. Sorry.
I have 4 Elizabeth McHouls on my database.
1. born 1853. parents Robert McHoul who died in cartwright Canada & Mary Meikle born 1853 Galston. This is my line. Robert's parents were Willam McHoul & Jean Hamilton (1790's) and his gparents were Hugh McHoul & Lilias Smith (1760's) I am descended from Robert's sister Agnes. All born in Galston
2. parents Francis McHoul & Catherine, She was born in 1859 in Galston but her parents were from ireland.
3. Elizabeth crawfurd McHoul born 1798 the daughter of Hugh McHoul & Lilias Smith.
4. Eliz. McFarlane McHoul born after 1880 to William McH and Janet Paterson. His parents were Janet Curdie and William McHoul from Kilmaurs. This is your line Tim, which begins with Jean Craig.
Interesting isn't it

I've found many of the Galston line, and wonder if mine arose there as well. Have you got anything additional on them?

I can send you what I have...pdf, GEDCOM, whatever is best for you.

Hello Tim,
I'll put what I have on all these McHouls on report format or if you prefer gedcom , and send to your email address. Hope it's still the same. I'd be very glad to see what you have too. Report format would be best for me so I can add to my existing database.

Catherine,

I'm hoping to find more about my original John McHoul's origins by nailing down everything I can about his children. Have sent you my chart of his descendants.

Hi Catherine,
My Elizabeth was born in Glasgow in 1884 and died in 1935. I also have a William McHoul (born abt 1853) whose parents were David McHoul (born Ayrs, Mauchine, died Glasgow) and Janet Allan. William had two brothers John and Hugh.
My Elizabeth married Thomas Stewart Morrison in 1919. Does any of these names connect with yours.

Hello Lisa,
I only have the one David McHoul on my db and he died as a child. However I shall now input your David and janet Allan . I also checked for a William with brothers John and Hugh and found no matches.
However, I am sure that your Elizabeth is the same as the Elizabeth McFarlane McHoul I have - born Glasgow 1885 - could easily have been 1884 because of census dates. She's on Tim Millar's Tree, and we'd both be most interested to hear what happened to her!

Hi catherine,
My Elizabeth died 22nd March, 1935 aged 51yrs, her death place is listed as 114 Kilmarnock Road, Glasgow. Apparently after her death her husband Thomas Stewart Morrison migrated to South Africa and remarried twice and died in 1962.
Also Elizabeths parents are listed on my tree as John McHoul and Hannah Elizabeth Brown. I think they married about 1877.
