There are probably thousands of DeForests in the US and they were numerous in the 1800s in NY and other states.

You will need to give more information than your request provided. Otherwise, it is impossible. Do you have any names? Any dates? Any locations?

The names states are a start. Are these living family members or ancestors?

If they are currently living, then the methods used in genealogy research may not help too much. You can use the internet to search in tel. directories is all I can think of. If they are ancestors, then you need to start a general genealogy search.

I see that Deborah DeForest Maine is a relative. My mother's name is Deborah DeForest Main.

My DeForest relatives are also from Texas. Do you have any connection to the DeForests that settled around the Rockport, Texas area?

My Father was John Robert DeForest, my grandfather was Thomas Emule DeForest. My grandfather came to the Fulton/Rockport area from his father's farm in Empris, Alberta, Canada. My grandfather's father came from a small village somewhere in France to America, took a wife and moved to a 600 acre farm in Empris, Alberta, had three sons two went west to California and one came south to Texas.
This is all I know and I know it's not much, sorry. My Mother is Myrtle Marie DeForest (Jones) she will be 94 this dec.25,2009. My brother is Roy Edward DeForest of Copano.
