I don’t think I know of this lady but am interested.
Please may I know here you found her date of death (22 Feb 1556)and to which
Blennerhassett is she married?
The only
Tyndall –
Blennerhassett marriage that I am aware of about this time is:
Jane (a.k.a. Joan)
Blennerhassett, nee
Tyndall (
Tindall, Tyndale…) born est.c1446
daughter of Sir Thomas
Tyndall, knight, of Deene in Co.Northamptonshire
and also of Redenhall & Hockwold in Co.Norfolk
she died 6-Oct-1521 (date from inscription on her monumental brass, some sources have d.6-Oct-1520 or 17-Jun-1521, from misreading this inscription)
buried inside the church of St.Andrew at Frenze, near
Diss, Co.Norfolk where she has a monumental brass, with effigy of her wearing a gown wearing a “kennel” headdress, “bidding her beads”. There were three brass shields bearing coats of arms (onlt two survive):
1. Blennerhassett quartering Lowdham
2. Blennerhassett impaling
Tyndall, quartering Fecklin
3. Tyndall, quartering
Orton and
ScalesShe married (sometime before 1473) to John
Blennerhassett born c1423/4 (some sources make her first the widow of Thomas
Hobson, but I believe that to be incorrect)
her husband John
Blennerhassett (of Southill, Co.Bedfordshire and, following the death of his father, of Frenze Co.Norfolk)died 27-Nov-1510(date from inscription on his monumental brass, some sources have d.7-Nov-1510 or 8-Nov-1510 or 28-Nov-1510, from misreading this inscription)
