My father's side of the family is from Botosani. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who might know about the family history or is perhaps a distant relative. Thanks!

My father's side, also Perlman (with exactly this graphy), is from Galatzi. The name was changed during ww II, so that I'm the first in the family to be born with a different name. I don't know if I had any relatives in Botosani. Do you know if you had any relatives Galatzi?
Waiting for your answer.

Calin,

I don't know of any family from Galatzi. How far is Galatzi from Botosani?

For what it's worth, both of my father's parents were from Botosani. My grandfather's name was Louis Perlman, and my grandmother's name was Adele Schwartz.

Galatzi is a couple of hundred miles south from Barlad. My grandfather, Jean Perlman, was born in Barlad (somewhere between the 2 cities above) and, between the 2 ww, he owned in Galatzi the famous paint factory Gallus, taken by force by I.G.Farben during ww2.

None of this rings a bell in terms of what I know about my family history. Of course, we may still be distantly related.

My grandfather Samuel Pearlman came from Botosani in 1900 to New York eventually settling in Canada. He was about 19 at the time and it is my understanding he was the only memeber of his family that left at that time.Does anyone have more information about the family?

My great-grandfather was Sigmond (Samuel) Pearlman, born in 1881 and died in Florida in 1953. He lived in Canada, though, from 1905 to the time of his death. I have just seen his mother or grandmother's headstone from Botosani, and it is Adela Perlmann. Perhaps we are related?
