Looking for information on Hugh Alexander. Dies 1861 in Dailly, Ayrshire. Married in 1815 to Mary Jackson. Hugh's death certifcate states John Alexander and Mary McPhie as parents.
Any help would be appreciated.

We too have Hugh and John Alexander's on our family tree. I have records of one John Alexander B. 12/16/1760 in Girvan, Ayrshire. His father was Hugh. I have found no trace of Hugh's wife. John immigrated to NY State, married Ruth Holmes and had a son Hugh b. 5/6/1793 in Galway, NY. Could your Hugh possibly be a brother of my John?

Janet Davies b. 3/15/1761 was the daughter of John Davies b.abt 1735 and Janet Allan. The Davies were married on 1/18/1756 in Kilbirnie. Janet Davies married John Logan b.1/16/1735 in K. John Logan and Janet Davies moved their family to Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire. They were my 4th greatgrandparents. Their son William and wife Barbara Storie moved to West Galway , NY, USA in the early 1800's. Have not been able to trace Janet Allan beyond the date of her marriage in 1756.

Hugh Alexander and Mary Jackson are listed on the 1841 Census along with four children one of whom James, I am decended from. It says that Hugh was born in Ireland. I also have information on Mary Jackson
