I'm trying to trace the descendants of William and Ann ALLEN of Winscombe.

Rachel Allen married Simon HAYES (or Hays)
Hester Allen married George HILL
Hannah Allen married Giles WILLIAMS of Wedmore

all in the 1810-1830 period.

I have the names of their children, but many of the chidren married or moved away. The HAYES sons went to Bristol, WILLIAMS daughters married BENOKE and NIPPER. I'm not sure what happened to the HILL children.

Is anyone researching any of these or any related families in the Mendip area?

Hello
I have been tracing Benoke and some of the Nipper family. My great grandfather Hooper Scott Benoke married Lousia Nipper, both families have connections back to Somerset.
Hoopers mother Ann was daughter of Giles & Sidonia Williams.

Would love to share information -- perhaps you could get in touch by e-mail.

Hooper's grandmother was almost certainly Hannah, not Sidonia!

I am very interested in how sure you are that Hooper maternal grandmother was Hannah. I have them both on the 1861 cenus together. I would be more than happy to contact you by e-mail.

I'm sure we have a lot of interesting information to share, and can help fill in each other's research gaps. I can send you family group sheets by e-mail that will make it much easier to see than trying to explain it here.
