Hi I have been searching for allans in the wrong place.
My G.Grandfather William Allan Married Elizabeth Deans in 1872 at Dalry Beith. Now i have found out that they moved to Kilbirnie around that time. I have a Janet Allan .George Allan G.G.Grandfather born Abt 1826. And now my first sibling.James Allan at the 1881 census was 7 years old.
I think there may be a connection.I live in Scotland

Just noticed on my extract of Register of Births from Kilbirnie, that the Resistrar is listed as William Allan This is June 15th 1872. Hope this helps.
