Hello I am trying to locate my great great grandfathers grave. His name is Reverend Henry James Williams.
He had a daughter in Inez that is buried at the Saltwell cemetery in Inez. Her name is Agnes Anne Williams Pelphrey, she was married to John A . Pelphrey.

I am told that Henry James Williams was walking home from Church on a Sunday morning and was shot and killed, this was about 1875-1876
supposedly he was buried some where near an old Methodist Church, in an old cemetery, high on a hill the name Borders Chapel has been mentioned near Ulysses, Ky.
Is anyone familiar with this area, and were there any newspapers around then that might have mentioned his death?
thanks
mary

I have lived in that area but I am not familiar. However, I will send this on to someone who might be able to help you. There is the Williamson Daily News and the Kermit Library - both are West Virginia located but cover items from Inez as well.
