Hi, I was searching for Jacquel and found your post. My gggrandfather was Ernest Jacquel 1869-1911 (mar.1891) Marie Ferry 1870-19??. Marie's parents are Eugene Ferry 1834-???? and Louisa ???? 1838-after 1910. I don't know if they were married in France or the USA. I don't know if they came to the US together. I have Ernest arriving in 1891 and Marie in 1890. Could be an error on the census report. On my ggrandfathers (Camille Charles Jacquel (4 Nov 1889) naturalization papers it states that he was born in Valet Chatillon, France. I also believe that Ernest had a brother Edouard born in France 1870 died in the USA in 1948. I don't know how popular the name Jacquel (Jacquelle) is in France, but I thought I would give you what I have. Bonnie

Val-et-Châtillon is located in the Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France. Many of my ancestors came from this city. I do not know if your FERRY and JACQUEL connected to my family. But perhaps I can help you because I found these two couples :

- Louis Eugène FERRY, born 24 September 1834 in Saint-Sauveur (Meurthe-et-Moselle), son of Joseph FERRY and Catherine JACQUEL/JACQUOT, married on 23 January 1862 in Saint-Sauveur with Marie Louise SEYER, born on 11 February 1835 in Saint-Sauveur, daughter of Jean Pierre SEYER and Anne DUBOIS.

- Joseph JACQUEL, working to Norroy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), born around 1836, married Justine PAPIN, born around 1841, whose a son : Edouard JACQUEL, born 22 July 1871 in Saint-Sauveur.

Clarification : Norroy lies between Val-et-Châtillon and Saint-Sauveur.

I managed to get the birth certificate of Edouard Jacquel, born 22 July 1871 in Saint-Sauveur. He is the son of Joseph Jacquel and Justine Papin.
