I am looking for a Mary Frances Mockbee who married a Atison Shelby Stinnett. In Illinois in Maroa. 4-30-1876. They had 7 children. He died around 1894. She stayed on and worked a toll bridge before moving to Springfield, Ill. Any info would be helpful. One of her son's ,Shelby Addison or Atison is my grandfather.

I have a copy of a marriage license for an Attison S. Stennett of Maroa, Macon Co. IL and Mollie F. Mockbee. License issued on April 29th 1876 and they were married May 1, 1876 in Maroa. I am researching Mockbee family but haven't connected with Mollie

Mary Mockbee was my grandgathers mother. His name was Shelby Stinnett. I have quite abit of infor regarding her family as I have been researching it for a while. I found a cousin
who is also the grt,grt,grt granddaaughter of Mary. Molly was her nickname.

Tom, My husband's mother was a Mockbee. Her family came to IL from KY. Her father was Jesse Mockbee, born in Oct 2, 1867 in Harrison Co. KY and his father Jacob Mockbee born in Brown Co.Ohio 1834. I have a copy of the marriage license of Attison Stinnet and Molly Mockbee because I was trying to find any Mockbee that might be part of the family. Unfortunately I never found where she fit in. I have a copy of the book "The Mockbee Family Roots in Maryland, Kentucky, and Ohio and Descendants by Shirley June Mockaee Ames 1988. If you have any Mockbee names I will look them up as she has a miscelaneous Mockbee section. Carol Brock

Carol, Vicki Thanks. The only MOCKBEE name I have is my gggrandmother, Mary F. (Mollie) MOCKBEE. I know she was born in 1853 but I know nothing else. My aunt says maybe she was born in St. Charles Missouri. Carol did the marriage license list any parents of either Mollie or Attison? Thanks for whatever you find.

Tom, I was looking through the book I mentioned. There is a miscellaneous section. In 1860 St. Charles Co. MO Federal Census, Portage Des Sious township, 17 July, page 156 is listed Tilmon Mockbee, age 60 farmer, born KY. John W. Age 16, born KY and Cynthia age 13, born KY. Living next door to Tilmon is William Mockbee: Lucy age 32 born KY, Sara, age 11 born MO, James W. Age 9 born MO., Frances Age 7 born MO. Margaret, age 4, born MO, Frederick age 2 born MO. The Frances listed could be your ggrandmother. I am writing to U of IL at Springfield, IL for another copy of Attison and Molly's marriage license and ask them to send any family information. Some of the marriage license I have from IL have names of parents etc. The one of Attison and Molly does not. Will let you know if I find anything.
