Searching for information about my g-g-grandparents, Alexandrus Brown and Nellie Gasque.Who were their parents and where they migrated from.

I checked the 1850 census at Ancestry.com and found:

The next listing may be his parents:

The index doesn't list any Gasques in Horry county, but there are some in the next county Marion.

Several years ago a family Bible belonging to a Brown Family was found in the former home of Gamaliel and Mary Susan Brown Mintz after the farm was acquired by the Galloway Family near Bolivia, NC. It lists Alexander Brown b. June 7, 1816 and Nelly Brown b. March 10, 1819. Also listed are many children and other names. Both Alexander and Nelly are buried in the Mintz Cemetery, Shallotte, NC. I published an article ( one page in length ) on this Bible in the Brunswick County Historical Newsletter and will be glad to send you a copy. Send me your address to my email address.

Does anyone know anything about Edwin J. or Jehu Gasque? I've been at a real roadblock for some time now.

In regard to Jehu Gasque. My greatgrandfather was Jehu Gasque born in 1827 in South Carolina. He married Emmeline Richardson born abt 1832 in South Carolina. He had six children and one step-son and one step-daughter by the last name of Allison.

I am still trying to identify the parents name of Alexander Brown...have good genealogy on Nellie Gasque lineage...where is a good place to visit and stay for about a week this spring.
