I'm looking for any additional information for the following:
Hans Hansen (b abt Nov 1839, Denmark, d bef 1910. +Christina Maren Dedersen (b abt Jun 1852, Denmark) - Hans Fred(rik) Hansen (1885-1937) + Bertha Yungtum (1885-?) - Belle Christine Hansen (1889-1973) + Carl Erikson (1873-1956) - Ellen Hansen (1892-?) + George W Byers (1886-?)
I'm showing that there were actually 4 children born (4 live, 6 total)
Any connections - I would love to hear more about the family (Belle Christine is my great-grandmother.)
Thanks very much. B.

Re: Hans Hansen family, Vermillion Township
Brandon, Just for starters, I have pics of the gravestones of Hans(11/10/1839-2/21/1909) & Maren Christena(8/25/1851-4/16/1929)in Canova cemetery. I haven't been able to find where Fred, Belle, or Ellen are buried. I'll do some more looking and also to see if i can figure out who their older sibling was. You may be able to tell me some of that, knowing where Carl & Belle ended up, etc.

Re: Hans Hansen family, Vermillion Township
That would be great! I'm actually going up to Howard for my Grandmother Erikson's 80th b-day in May and will be visiting some of the graves up there - Canova isn't far to go.
As for Fred, Ellen, & Christine:
Fred basically lived and died in Vermillion Township, I haven't been able to find where he's buried. I'm also not seeing any children born - but I could be wrong on that one.
Ellen I show living in Baker, O'Brien County, Iowa. I haven't been able to find a cemetery listing for her either. I show that she had at least two kids - George and Agnes.
Christine (Belle) - she married Carl Erikson and had 7 kids (I can throw you a list of them and their decendants if you want) I'm hoping to get pictures of their graves when I head up to Howard in May. I'd be happy to share those with you.
Is there any particular information that you might be looking for?
Thanks. B.
Also, I guess we're related?

Re: Hans Hansen family, Vermillion Township
Brandon, I have pics of all gravestones in Miner Co. and peripheral cems(like Winfred). But I can't find Carl & Belle. I presume Arnold was your grandpa and guessing Larry is your dad, or Luverne? I'm not related, but lived 2 miles from your grandparents. I have a relative who lives on Edwin's farm and my girlfriend's dad's farm is 1/2 mile from there. Re: Hans Hansen family, Vermillion Township
I am starting my family tree and wanted to say hello. My Grandmother was Ethel Lorraine (Erikson) Koehler. She is daughter of Carl and Belle. I used to visit Canova, SD with her almost every Summer. My Middle name is Marlene, after Ethel's sister who died when she was around 9 years, from a cancer I believe.
If anyone is interested in the Carl and Belle line, I would be happy to ask more from my Mother. She has piles of family history concerning my Grandmother's family and many, many photos.
Nice to find this thred! Sara

Sara -
You are my second cousin! My father is Larry Erikson (Ethel's brother Arnold's son) Do you ever get back to SD? I get up there a few times a year (used to live there and do research there).
I have a few pictures of Christine - not many - and some of Carl. I would love to exchange info if you want.
Cheers! Brandon W Erikson.

Re: Hans Hansen family, Vermillion Township
Hello Brandon,
That is so neat that we are second cousins! I know a lot of my Dad's family history and really wanted to learn more about my Mom's side of the family.
My Mom (Debbie) says that your Dad was quite a bit older than she was. Said that Leslie was the same age as my Aunt Sandy, so she remembers him the most.
I don't make it to SD anymore, sadly. My Grandmother Ethel moved back to Wyoming to live with my family when I was in High School. I would love to make it back to SD though. Traveling there to visit was a big part of my childhood.
Exchanging information sounds great! I let my mom know about the site and maybe she will have more pictures to share. She has all of my Grandmother's albums at the house.
Thanks for the reply! It was a nice surprise! Sara
