My Amelia, who lived in Miner Co., was a Treaster who married Levi Sheckler. Does this person sound familiar to you?

Re: Amelia and Levi Schekler
Dixie, I am not at all related. As a hobby I photograph gravestones. I lived in Watertown, SD for 28 years, so did all stones in Codington Co. But I grew up in Miner Co. and we have a home in Howard, where we will retire. So I have also photographed all gravestones in Miner Co. I have issues with FindaGrave so no longer post my photos on that website. However, The Gravestone Photo Project(you can google it) is active in S Dakota. Or go directly to southdakotagravestones.org . Now for the interesting part..... Levi Sheckler may actually be buried at Wakeman Cem. Ellen Bishop must have a special interest in Leve, judging from the memorial she posted. But she only presumed that Amalia was buried with Levi at Wakeman. However, apparently she didn't know that Amalia died at Howard in 1901. .... Now go to my photos, and see Amalia's stone at Graceland Cem at Howard. And, you will also find a stone for Levi. But he has no death date, so the stone was probably prepared for him the same time as Amalia's. Then Levi probably moved and died in Harding Co. I am currently in Howard, if there is anything more you might want from here....... Of course you will also find a William Treaster(and 2 others) at Graceland Cem. A brother of Amalia? Bill Feller

William Lewis Treaster is Amelia's brother. I am a descendent of William's daughter Anna Lavera. Amelia had 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Her parents were Jacob Treaster and Margaret Dutcher. Id have some more information on the Treaster family if you are interested.

Re: Amelia and Levi Schekler
Thank you, Bill. I was able to find all the headstones that you mentioned and had already deduced that Amelia and Levi are buried in 2 different cemeteries.
