I am doing research on the Salazar family who lived in the San Luis Valley. The information I have so far is:
Jose Miguel Salazar (died in 1860 in San Franciso Co.)
married to Maria Ignacia Trujillo---My GG Grandparents

Rafaiel Garcia
Miguela Madrid GG Grandparents

Miguel Antonio Salazar b. 1849
Avelina Maria Garcia b. 1853

Miguel is buried in Los Cerritos Cemetery I am not sure where Avelina is buried.

Miguel and Avelina were married in Antonito Co. 11/28/1872

They had four children that I have been able to trace

Maria Cornelia Salazar b.9/16/1873
Issac Salazar b. 5/30/1875
Pedro M. Salazar b. 7/6/1877
Maximiliano A. b 12/6/1883 d. 7/7/1966 My Grandfather.

I found that Miguel Antonio Salazar and Maria Abelina Garcia
of Cerritos had a son Pedro Salazar that died at the age of 7 months 01/17/1878 pg 181 I could not find any other info on this family. Martha

Their son Miguel Antonio Salazar b. 1849 d. 1930 married to Maria Abelina or Avelina Garcia b.1853. They were married at St. Augustines Cath. Church in Antonito Colo. 11,28,1872. Also any information on Maximilano Ambrosio Salazar and Juanita Serna, Maximilano was Miguel and Maria's son my Grandfather.???

I believe the Issac Salazar you are referring to is my great grand father, He was 35 years old in 1910 census, he was married to Eliza (not sure of her maiden name, I know she was also born in colorado), they had 5 children, Anna, Minnie (my grandmother), Issac Jr., Abbie, and Mary. You can find this information in the 1910 census State of Colorado, County of Conejos. I believe it is on page 12. Do you have any other information on Issac's family? I would really appreciate any information you have.

Judy, I have no connection to this family, but I do have access to the Colorado Marriages CD put together by the Denver Public Library. I found an Isaac SALAZAR marrying an M. Eliza CHAVEZ on 08 January 1898. Registered in Conejos County. License # 321. I don't know if you already had their marriage date, but at least you know Eliza's maiden name now. Judi, thank you for all the information you were able to give me. Do you know where or if there is a book available with that information contained in it? I also have several other relations that I would like to look up as well, I lack information on the maiden names of two GGMothers who also resided in Las Sauses, Conejos area.
