I am looking for a plantation that (in 1873) was located on the shores of Lake St. John in
Louisiana. My great-great-grandmother, Ella Lucretia
Sirmon, daughter of James S. Sirmon, was living on this plantation in 1873 when she was married to my great-great-grandfather, J.R. Palmero in St. Mary Basilica in Natchez, MS. A witness to their marriage (and I think a relation by marriage to Ella's father) was J.K. Guice. On the record of the marriage found in the Basilica records, the priest who married them wrote that "the partner (meaning Ella,) is living in
Louisiana, on Ravenswood Plantation, on the banks of Lake St. John." I would appreciate any information on Ravenswood Plantation (Or if no such plantation exists, any plantation on the banks of Lake St. John), and/or on any of the people I mentioned. Thanks!
