Hello,

The death record of one of my ancestors lists his birthplace as Honinghausen, Wittlage, Hanover, but I have been unable to find any place called Honinghausen. If anyone knows of such a place, or of a similarly named one, I would really appreciate any information.

My ancestor was Christan Heinrich Massman, born 27 August 1824. He married Maria Katherina Henrietta Meyer in 1847 in Hanover.

Thank you!

I think, Herringhausen is the correct spelling. The village is today part of the town of Wittlage in the Osnabrück county in LowerSaxony (Niedersachsen).

Hello i think the correct name is Herringhausen, but it could also be Hördinghausen.
These places are now part of Bad Essen some 30 kilometers east of Osnabrück in Germany.
I hope this will help you a little bit.
