Hi- Cerriots is a small city located about 45-60 minutes from San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. It is very small and has a population of about 14,000 people. I know of this place ecause this is where my Fiancee' family lives, they are from a Ranch just 1 hour in the opposite direction called La Hincada. Cerritos is known forthe meat markets. We just vacationed there for the past 2 weeks over the holidays and plan to return for our wedding day in December 2005! Let me know what specif information you are looking for and I will try to help.

since this post i have gone to "cerritos", spent two weeks and did alot of research. planning to go back this summer again. yes there are many meat markets. i enjoyed my visit. this is the only town that the "nieto" name is numbered. thank you.

Hello, I have been looking for the ranch (La Hincada) that Joelle who replied to your message mentioned. I have been looking for that ranch for several years and didn't know if it still existed. My paternal grandfather Adrian Atenojes de Leon was supposedly born at La Lincda in the late 1800's. I beleive he then lived in Cerritos until around 1920 when he and his family moved to Texas, and eventually to DeGraff, Kansas near El Dorado, Kansas.

I have been looking for any De Leon's that may be living in that area. If anyone knows of the family, please e-mail; and if possible any information on La Hincada, pictures if there are any.

Hello. My maternal grandmother was born in Cerritos in 1903. Her father was also born there, in 1874. How can I get a record of their births? She was baptized in Tampico. She died in California in 1999. I live in the area of Los Angeles, Ca. I do have a copy of my g-grandfather's baptism in 1874. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
