Interpreting dates like 10 Ed. 3, 1336

I've been using research from some Pedigree documents and it will state:

"died s.p. before 15 Edward I, 1287"
"He died 22 Edward I, 1294"
"26 Henry 3, 1228"

How would you list the dates for those three examples?

Also, is this 'Maud' or 'Robert Hilton' concerning the will and 'proved' (which I assume is probated after death):

"MAUD, daughter of Robert Hilton, of Hilton, Esq., will dated 1 September, and proved 10 November, 1419"

Any assistance will be appreciated?

The first part of the date refers to the year of the reign of the monarch of the time. So "10 Ed 3" is the tenth year of the reign of Edward III - i.e. 1336.

We are currently in 60 Eliz 2!

Carobradford,

Thanks! That was a bit confusing until you cleared it up.

Luke
