My grandparents were; Martin Kietzmann born 1839 in Prussia and Anna Zabell / Zabel born 1844 in Prussia. They came to the USA in about 1865. The name Kietzmann was apparently shortened to Kitzman after a period of time in the USA. They first lived in Wisconsin and later, about 1875 moved to Rice County, Minnesota were they lived and died. They were Farmers and of the Catholic Faith. There were other Kietzmann's/Kitzman's in the Rice County, Minnesota area that apparently were relatives and attended the same church as my Grandparents, however, no one living today can tell me how close they were related.

There were twelve Children in my mother's family. Martin Jr. born 1863 in Prussia, John born 1867 in WI, Peter born 1869 in WI, Anthony born 1872 in WI, Rose born 1874 in WI, Joseph
born 1876 in Rice County, Minnesota. Mary born 1878 in MN, Josephine born 1880 in MN, Casper born 1883 in MN, Anna born 1885 in MN and my mother Pauline born 1887 in MN.

I am searching for Ancestors and relatives in Germany and the USA.

I have information for Don Morris or others trying to find a Paul Kitzman or a Mrs. Zable in Minnesota in 1862.

I believe I may have some info for you, I was told that there were 8 Kitzman siblings that came over from Prussia/Germany, most of which resided in the Rice Co. area...Martin, Gottlieb, Peter, Anton, Stephen, John, Rose,Justine, and a half-brother Theodore Zable (not sure if that's the right relationship), also a brother Joseph who died in Germany. I just started researching the siblings but I have alot of info on Gottlieb's descendants as he is my g.g.g.grandfather. I'd love to compare notes if nothing else, and figure out exactly how the Kitzman's and Zable's are connected?
