Cemetery Listings

I just finished combining these five cemeteries into a single spreadsheet:
Ebenezer, Bethesda, Fishing Creek, Burnt Church (Fishing Creek East), and Old Purity.

The spread sheet is sixteen columns with headings:
Line Number; Transcribed Surname; Transcribed Given Name(s); Suspect, Maiden, or Known Full Name; Date of Birth; Date of Death; Age (at death); Where Buried; Date Married; Spouse-Surname; Spouse-Given Name(s); Father-Surname; Father-Given Name(s); Mother-Maiden; Mother-Given Name(s); Comments. Note: if the DOB or DOD is a year only, I had to append something for force it into non numerical (Numbers uses a numerical derivative for dates before and after 1900) as any number entered would show up as 1 Jan YYYY instead of YYYY.

At present there are 3830 individual names (I dropped all duplicates from the listings while retaining all information given.)

I was able to use the listing and the internet to fill in about half the spouse and parents information. In some cases I was not able to definitively identify given names of spouse, father, or mother though with the spouse and father the surname/maiden is annotated appropriately with no given name entered.

I tried to be as accurate as possible with this though I am quite sure there are errors due to not have the church listings as a beginning but using findagrave as the primary source.

I work on a Mac so the original spreadsheet is in Numbers format but have exported it into Xcel format and can easily export it into CSV format. I prefer not using the CSV format as that deletes all formatting because csv is a Text style format and does not have any formatting of its own.

I would like to offer this to both the York County GENWEB and Chester County GENWEB if they can figure out how to set it up for posting as a webpage. Beyond that, I have complete sort capability of the document allowing me to sort in just about all the various columns.

There is probably some more work that should be done but this has escalated beyond my personal abilities and time constraints.

This note will also be posted on the Chester site.

I would love to have your cemetery listing being that I have a number of ancestors and relatives buried in some of them. Can you send a Excel file directly to me? I would appreciate having it.

Because of a couple of requests, I have reconfigured the Xcel spreadsheet to include a Personal Use License agreement page as part of the "Xcel book".

Anyone wanting a copy of please email me direct to:

WOOOOW! There seem to be a LOT of researchers in the area of these churches and all want a copy of the listing. I will wait until about noon tomorrow to see if there are any more requests the send it out as a single, multi-addressed email, I created a mailbox just for this project for ease of use.
There was a question of compensation for my work. I do not feel I can request such as the listings I used were public and are offered free to the public with a similar caveat as I included as a page in the "Excel Book" on Personal Use. My main reason for even attempting this is my John BATES Sr of Fishing Creek (Ogden Area) who raised eleven children from two wives along with being an Under Sheriff in the area from about 1792 and the Constable in 1791. Only two of his married children remained in the area after his death in 1833 so I still have relatives around there and am corresponding with a couple of them. This along with all the spousal families in the area that included quite a number who moved with John Jr in 1827 to Georgia, Alabama, and Texas spreads them out quite a bit.
I plan on using this myself as a help in identifying some of those spousal relatives in the York Co/Chester Co area.
Look for my combined email tomorrow about noon (MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME-I live in El Paso, Tx)

I would love to be on the list for the cemetery listings. My Chester families are extremely difficult to locate and this wonderful tool might be of some help in my efforts.

Thank you so much for putting all the hours into this project. You have compiled something that will help many researchers and family members.
