I realize that you posted your sometime ago. My family is origianally from Sask. Now most of my siblings live in Ontario. My had 4 other brothers and sisters. His second yougest sister is the only surviving relative in their immediate family and she still resides in Sask.

My grandfather is named sam kindrat and he married dora snihur. sam had peter,tom and marie as brothers and sisters. sam kindrat lived in edmonton alberta also. john kindret as now spelt instead of kindrat. We all changed our last name to kindret. Well john kindret lived in saskatchewan. marko kindrat lived in the old country. dora kindrat had a brother named bill snihur and they lived in alberta also. my grandmother was mary nickolichuk. Sure hope we can find our relatives. So hard to find ancesters in austia. take care

Sam married dora snihur and they lived in alberta. I think grandma came from romania. Marko kindrat is in the old country. bill snihur was dor kindrat brother. sam kindrat married dora snihur. great mother was mary nickolichuk and married john snihur. sam kindrat was born december 25 1882 and born in toporow czernovitis, bukowina romania . sams father was austria. hope this helps. we have not had any luck at all in finding our reliatives. take care

I think, judging by your surnames, your research will be in historical Galicia.Austria or Bukowina. Austria, of course depending on the location. It certainly is not in present Austria.
