hi, my name is Rachel. I live in Texas and I am researching my dad's family history. When my grandfather passed away, we received a letter telling us a story of how he met his wife Lucia Hernandez Solis in El Soliseno, Tamp., Mexico. This was on her father's ranch called "El Rancho Perrote". It is a very interested story and if there happens to be relatives of my dad still living, I would like to take my dad to Mexico for they can meet. I think this is very interesting and I don't want to stop until I know more. Please if anyone has any information, please e-mail me. Married : 9-29-1857.
2.
Felipe Solis y Delfina Gonzalez, el Vindo (HL) de Ramon Solis y Rosalia Perez
Married: 3-24-1864.

Rachel, my great great grandfather was Timoteo Solis and he was from Bagdad (Now Port Isabel, TX) and we have a newspaper article dated July 1875 about him and Texas Rangers (McNealy's Frontier Forces). His daughter Angelica Solis (my Great Grandmother) married Juan Garza from Port Isabel and had my Grandmather Maria G. Campos. Let me know if you're connected to this Solis lineage. Art, I have researched the base roots of the Solis family from El Soliseno and have Juan Jose Solis and his children on down listed. I have a Timoteo Solis in my list but no spouse. He was no. 5 of 8 children. Let me know if this sounds like your family.

Getting back with you regarding the Solis' family from El Soliseno. Do you know if Felipe Solis is one of the brothers to Timeto Solis.

Michael Angelo, I don't know the name of my Great, Great, Grandmother, but I know about my Great, Great, Grandfather Timoteo Solis because my Grandmother (Maria Garza Campos) use to talk about him. I also got to meet my Great Grandmother Angelita Solis Garza (who was Timoteo's daughter) and was married to my Great Grandfather Juan Garza (call "Leon" Grande - "Leon" is pronounced like lion in Spanish). Do you have anything on a lady named Felicita. I believe she was Timoteo's mother. This would be during the mid 1800's. As I recall, all of the Solis and Garza's are from Port Isabel, Texas

My father's name is Gaston Benavides Solis, and he is from El Soliseno , and my great great grandfather's name was juan jose Solis and he was one of the founders of that ranch, ANy body want some more information? please contact me

Well I guess I will still do some more searching on the Solis family. He was my dad's garndfather and I would like to know what family he still has in Mexico.
I don't know if my husband is related to this Reyna. My husband family is from Wharton County.
