i was born in Samoa but raised up in a different country, my whole life i'm trying to find out who were my ancestors. It is a token for me to know those little information about my past because i dont want to let them disapper in a thin air.

Melcy, did you get a chance to check out the ChooHoo website? Let others know what it is you're seeking/hunting, get the word out and start posting to every messageboard and mailing list.

You should also try posting with newspapers within a 50-mile radius of where your ancestors are from. Yes, you, your direct rellies, your distant rellies, etc., may have migrated to new lands but history - even oral history - lives on.

"It's not what you know, it's who you know." So true even today, and I've been hearing that all my life and I've only stepped on that "rock" once in my lifetime. But 'oral history' with Samoans IS their history.

Is LEILEISIUAO a typo? Is LELEISIUAO a matai title? Are your ancestors mainly from Upolu? Where exactly is Levi Saleimoa? Is it anywhere near Amaile, Aleipata, Upolu, Samoa?

My name is Melcy Leaana Leleisiuao, my greatgrand Father was Amio Leleisiuao...are you related to any of the Leleisiuao?

Leleisiuao is not a Matai name, it is my last name...Melcy Leaana Leleisiuao...i'm originally from Savaii...i've done some research and found some of my Anccestors, my greatgrand father was Amio Leileisiuao, my grand father was Felise Leaana Leleisiuao.
Any Leleisiuao people out there?

Certainly, I think my grandfather Selevae is a brother of Leaana based in (Saleimoa). Ill have to look at my books which has about 10 generations back of the Leleisiuao name. if thats what you are after.....
