I am researching the Wolfgang Brandl family that moved to Brown county in Minnesota.
His father was Johan GeorgBrandl born 1806, and grandfather was Josef Brandl..all were from Zenching. If anyone can help further, please let me know.I am making a trip there next May and want more detail.

just read through your message again. You have probably a good idea about what and where to search meanwhile.

Anyway, here are a few bits of information you could make use of:
Zenching belongs to the administrative district of Koetzing, province Niederbayern, Evangelical Parish Koetzing, Catholic parish Rimbach. You may want to contact the respective parish in advance, in order to know where to find the records you need.

Also: The German phone directory http://www.dastelefonbuch.de/ shows 6 Brandls still living there (the municipality/town is Arnschwang). You can find them when you enter Brandl for Name and Zenching for Ort. You might even write a few letters, better to know in advance who's your cousin ;-)

hello, my gr-grandfather is Wolfgang Brandl of Brown county. i dont know much about there blood line through germany but i do know that they left because of religous purposes. Wolfgang - Nov. 5, 1845- Sept. 1916. and his Wife Franziska - Mar. 16, 1847- Nov. 30, 1931. Their grave is located in a small town at Leavenworth's Catholic Church of the Japenesse Martrs. Along with it you will find my grandfather Joseph Brandl and my two uncles. I mighte be able to help you, or you could help me. I am also wondering if we are related? Or as to why you are researching this family. thank you
